The Alexander Technique

The Alexander Technique is the experiential learning of the body structure and its natural functioning as a whole. It enables each student to understand the body-mind connection, serving a better use of the self and using less physical and mental effort in any activity of the daily routine.

The Alexander Technique enables a rediscovery and a new recognition of oneself from the most trivial sensorimotor perceptions. Awakening to a new awareness as a living experience in the body.

In this video, published by the British Medical Journal, you will find much more about the Technique. I hope you get inspired.

The learning of the self

The Alexander Technique is about learning how to be aware of what you are doing with yourself during all your activities. It is a practical method you can learn to apply into your daily routine as well as in your performance.  Applying the Technique makes breathing, speaking and singing much easier, movements get lighter and more fluent. Learning how to use the Alexander Technique will provide you optimaal muscle tone, therefore less tension whilst in action, as well as at rest. As you go through the pages of this blog, you will find some more information about the Alexander Technique, and also about my work.  If you have any questions and/or get inspired  to  try  it out, please send me an email .  Best Regards, Georgia Dias
